Supreme Court of India: After the summer vacation, the hearing on the petitions is going on in the Supreme Court. On Tuesday, a lawyer reached the court with a demand to reduce the cut off. Seeing this petition, the Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud got very angry. Not only this, he has advised the lawyer to study more to join the bar.
The petition filed in the Supreme Court demanding a cut off for AIBE or All India Bar Examination has been rejected. According to a LiveLaw report, CJI Chandrachud has found that a cut off will affect the quality of lawyers joining the bar. He has rejected the demand and petition for a cut off.
The CJI said, ‘They have kept the cut off at 45 for the general category and 40 for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes (SC/ST). What kind of a lawyer will he be, who cannot even score this many marks? You are demanding to reduce it to 40 and 35.’ After this the CJI told the petitioner, ‘Study brother.’ Recently, in response to an RTI, it has become clear that more than 50 percent of the candidates had failed in the AIBE exam of the year 2023.
On Monday too, the CJI got angry over a petition
The court also came across a PIL related to cyber terrorism. Seeing this, CJI Chandrachud said, ‘When we hear PILs filed by you on Mondays and Fridays, we get some comic relief. Today you have laws and there is also a government to deal with all these matters. This does not come under the purview of the judiciary.’
