In the Lok Sabha session, Jalandhar Congress MP and former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and Union Minister of State for Food Processing Industries Ravneet Singh Bittu clashed. There was a heated debate between the two, which heated up the atmosphere in the Lok Sabha. Channi accused Bittu of betraying the Congress, on which Bittu termed Channi as a corrupt MP. Ravneet Singh Bittu got angry and started going to the well, then before Channi, Congress MP Amarinder Raja Vading also moved towards the well. Due to the debate, the proceedings of the House had to be stopped till two o’clock.
While speaking during the discussion on the budget, Channi made a personal comment about Bittu. Channi said that your grandfather Beant Singh was martyred but he did not die that day, he died the day you left the Congress. On this statement of Channi, the MPs started banging the table.
Channi who talks about poverty is the most corrupt man: Bittu
Bittu got angry at this and said that my grandfather Sardar Beant Singh sacrificed his life for the country, not for Congress. This Channi is talking about poverty. If he is not the richest man from Punjab, if he is not the most corrupt, then I will change my name. This Charanjit Channi is the owner of thousands of crores. His property should be asked. Bittu claimed that Charanjit Singh Channi’s name came up in many cases, including ‘Me Too’. Where is Sonia Gandhi ji, she should first see this. He was involved in most MeToo cases and he was involved in most cases.
Members of both the parties came face to face in the House
After this statement of Bittu, when Channi started speaking, the members of the ruling party started creating a ruckus. Some MPs came to the well. Opposition MPs also came to the well. Members of both the sides came face to face in the House. After this, the proceedings of the House were adjourned till 2 pm. Congress raised the issue that whatever statement the minister made in Parliament is regrettable and it should be removed from the proceedings of Parliament. On this, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that the statements of both the leaders should be taken up and seen, whoever has made an objectionable statement should be removed from the proceedings. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said that if there is any problem, tell us, we will talk about it and remove it from the proceedings.
