Kia Exported More than 2.5 Lakh Made in India Vehicles

Kia, one of the major car companies, has achieved a major milestone in the country. Its exports have exceeded 2.5 lakh vehicles. Seltos has a share of about 59 percent in the company’s exports. Kia’s factory is in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. The company’s sales have grown rapidly in the country in the last few years.

Sonet has a 34 percent share in Kia’s exports and Carens seven percent. Last month, the company’s sales in the country grew by 3.9 percent to around 19,500 units. In the same month last year, the company sold 18,766 units. Sonet was the best-selling model for Kia in May.

It also sells MPV Carnival and electric vehicle EV6. On exports of more than 2.5 lakh units in the country, Myung-sik Sohn, Chief Sales Officer of Kia in the country, said, “This achievement has been achieved due to our commitment to quality and innovation. The success of our Made in India vehicles indicates our commitment to quality. Our focus is on the country’s market. We are also planning to maintain the export momentum this year.”

Last month, the company sold 7,433 units of Sonet. After this, 6,736 and 5,316 units of Seltos and Carens were sold respectively. In May, the company’s exports were 2,304 units. It exports vehicles to more than 100 countries. Recently, the company claimed to have sold more than 9.8 lakh units of passenger vehicles in the country. Seltos’ share in this is about 50 percent.

The company’s Sonet has crossed the sales of four lakh units in the country. It was launched about four years ago. This includes sales in the country as well as exports. Its 3,17,754 units have been sold in the country and 85,814 units have been exported.

The company launched the updated Sonet earlier this year. Of the customers who bought the Sonet, 63 percent have chosen its sunroof variants. Apart from this, 63 percent have bought its petrol engine and about 37 percent have bought the variant with 1.5 liter diesel engine.
