New Delhi. IPL has announced the date of players auction. This auction of players will be held in Saudi Arabia’s city of Jedrah this year. 1574 players have registered their names for the auction to be held on 24th and 25th November. Of these, 1165 are Indian and 409 foreign cricketers. After India, South Africa has the highest number of cricketers in the list.
Like last year, the Indian Premier League has decided to hold the auction abroad this time too. More than 1500 players have registered their names for this auction. Out of these, bids can be placed on around 200 players. For this reason it is also being called IPL Mega Auction. In this auction, the names of Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, who will captain in IPL 2024, will also be bid. These three cricketers have not been retained for IPL 2025. Names like Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj will also be seen included in the auction list.

91 players from South Africa…
After India, South Africa has the highest number of 91 players for the IPL auction. After this, 76 players from Australia, 52 from England and 76 from New Zealand have registered their names. 33 players from West Indies and 29 each from Afghanistan and Sri Lanka have also registered their names.
Italian cricketer registered his name
Among the players participating in the IPL auction, 320 are capped and 1224 are uncapped. Capped players are those who have played at least one international match. Maximum 48 capped players are from India. Cricketers from Italy and UAE have also registered one name each for this auction.
This time 46 players were retained
All 10 teams have retained 46 players for IPL 2025. Two teams Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals have retained the maximum number of 6-6 players. Punjab Kings has retained at least 2 players.
