David Johnson Commits Suicide: Former Indian cricketer David Johnson committed suicide. He ended his life by jumping from the fourth floor.
David Johnson played two Test matches for India. He made his debut for India in 1996 and played his second Test match in the same year.After this he did not get a chance.
Reactions of many cricketers including former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir and great bowler Anil Kumble, who was the head coach of Team India, have come to the fore and they have paid tribute to this former cricketer.
Apart from playing two Test matches for India, David Johnson has played Ranji cricket for Karnataka for a long time.
According to media reports, he committed suicide by jumping from the fourth floor of a private apartment on Thursday. He was suffering from depression. Sources told Republic World that Johnson took this step due to depression.
On receiving the information, Kothanur police reached the spot and the body was taken to Crescent Hospital.
As soon as the news of David Johnson’s death came, there was a flood of tribute messages on social media.
Expressing grief over Johnson’s untimely death, former Indian cricketer Anil Kumble posted, “Sad to hear the news of the death of my cricket partner David Johnson. Heartfelt condolences to his family. “Benny” gone too soon!”
Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir posted an e-mail on the demise of 52-year-old David Johnson and wrote, “Saddened by the passing of David Johnson. May God give strength to his family and loved ones.”
David Johnson used to bowl fast, but his career did not last long. In October 1996, he played his first Test match for India and in December 1996, he played his second Test match for Team India, which was the last international match of his career.
He played 39 first class matches and 33 List A matches for Karnataka. He made his debut in domestic cricket in 1992 and remained active till 2002.
Due to fitness and form, he did not get a chance to play for India for a long time. He was able to take only 3 wickets in two Test matches.
