New Delhi. In the third Test being played between India and New Zealand, Ravindra Jadeja is happy to once again take five wickets in Test cricket but he admitted that bowling in humid conditions on a slow pitch was a very difficult task. Jadeja achieved the feat of taking five wickets for the 14th time. He looked dangerous while pitching at good length spots and using varied bounce in his favour.
Jadeja’s assessment of the pitch also indicated that perhaps Ravichandran Ashwin’s ball speed slowed down a bit because he had to use his shoulders more to get help from the pitch. Jadeja told ‘Jeo Cinema’, “I felt that you need to bowl mixed (in terms of pace). There is bounce in the wicket but the ball is not rising. Unless you use a lot of shoulders, it’s difficult.
When the woman took off her clothes in support of the cricketer, came to the field naked, Gavaskar had narrated the story
He said, βIt was a special effort because bowling was not easy in this heat. Even Washington Sundar bowled well and played his role well. Now our batsmen will need to perform well together.
When asked if he knew that he had overtaken Zaheer Khan and Ishant Sharma (both had 311 wickets), the 35-year-old cricketer said that he looks at the figures only when there is no series going on and he Are at home. Regarding losing three wickets in one fell swoop in the last half hour of the day, Jadeja said that the first target on Saturday will be to bat well so that they can get the lead in the first innings.
