New Delhi. Indian cricket team’s hopes of reaching the World Test Championship final have been dealt a blow due to three consecutive defeats by New Zealand. Now he needs to win against Australia in the Border Gavaskar Trophy. If Team India is successful in winning the series 4-0 then it can make it to the finals. Although the doors will not be closed for them even after the defeat, they will have to depend on the results of other teams.

Even if the Indian team loses the series in Australia, the hopes will not end. Even if India loses the Test series 2-3 in Australia, they can reach the final of WTC 2023-25. After the defeat, India’s winning percentage will be 53.51, which will be second after current champion Australia.

What is the equation of India’s final?

India will have to rely on different equations to reach second place. Team India will keep an eye on the New Zealand team. The England team will tour New Zealand next month. England is already out of the race for the WTC final. If the England team beats New Zealand 3-0, then the winning percentage of the host team will reduce significantly. If the series is drawn 1-1 then it will benefit India.

After the series, New Zealand’s winning percentage will be 52.38. Along with the three-Test series between New Zealand and England, India will be eyeing the two-Test series between South Africa and Sri Lanka. India would like this series to be drawn 1-1.
