IPL Mega Auction: After separation from Lucknow, KL Rahul broke his silence, said- I wanted freedom, good team environment…

New Delhi. Indian cricket team batsman KL Rahul played for Lucknow Super Giants in the last 3 seasons in the Indian Premier League. He decided to leave the team before the mega auction to be held before next year’s tournament. He is going to enter this auction to be held in Jeddah on 24 and 25 November. Rahul has not been included in the list of retained players of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). KL has broken his silence after being separated from the team.

This decision of Rahul has sparked debate whether it was the decision of the franchise or the player’s own decision. 33 year old Rahul finally revealed this. He indicated that it was his desire to find a new team and aim to return to the Indian T20 team. Rahul told Star Sports, “I wanted to make a new beginning. I wanted to explore my options. I wanted to play where I could get some freedom and the team environment was light. Sometimes, you have to step away and find something good for yourself.

He further said, “I have been out of the T20 team for some time. I know where I stand as a player. I know what I have to do to come back. I am waiting for this IPL season. Hopefully this will give me that platform where I can go back and enjoy my cricket. My goal is to come back to the T20 team.”
