Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) RR Swain on Monday made a big allegation against the regional parties of the valley. He has said that it is because of these parties that Pakistani terrorists have been able to infiltrate Kashmir.

He also alleged that mainstream political parties prepared terrorist leaders so that they could perform well in the elections. ANI quoted the DGP as saying, ‘Pakistan was able to infiltrate Kashmir thanks to the so-called mainstream or regional politics in the valley.

There is enough evidence to show that many people had learned the art of running with the rabbit and hunting with the wolves, due to which both the common man and the security forces were scared and confused.’

During the conversation, Swain alleged that it was common for these people to visit the homes of terrorists killed by security forces and express sympathy for them publicly.

He said, “Recruitment of new people into terrorism was allowed and encouraged, but those who helped in recruitment and financial arrangements were never investigated. SP rank officers were arrested and put in jail along with terrorists even though they had never committed any crime.”

Referring to the death of two girls who drowned in a well in Tral in 2014, the DGP said, “The death of two girls by drowning in 2014 was termed as kidnapping by terrorists, which led to strike and riots in the valley. However, CBI investigation and AIIMS forensic made it clear that it was just an accident.”

The DGP’s remarks came after the Indian Army killed three terrorists who were trying to infiltrate across the LoC in Keran sector of Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir.

“There are not many terrorists in the valley but that is not necessary because these people are not responsible to anyone. If even one irresponsible person is sent here to kill indiscriminately with the sole aim of spreading violence, then it is a big challenge for us,” the top J&K police officer said.
