Famous Kannada actor and director Guruprasad was found dead in his Bengaluru apartment today. The 52-year-old director was known for his acclaimed films like ‘Mata’, ‘Adelu Manjunath’ and ‘Director’s Special’.
Police said neighbors informed them about a foul smell coming from her apartment in Bengaluru’s Dasanpura area, following which a police team went there.
Guruprasad was struggling with financial crisis
Police said they found the body decomposed and hanging in the drawing room. While the case is under investigation, initial reports indicate that Guruprasad was facing financial difficulties and pressure from creditors. Police said they are investigating every aspect including death by suicide.
Bengaluru Rural Superintendent of Police CK Baba told reporters, “This morning, the director was found dead by suicide in an apartment under the jurisdiction of Madanayakanahalli police station. It is known that he was facing significant financial difficulties.”
Mr Baba said, “Neighbors saw and reported the incident. A case has been registered under BNS 194. Our teams are conducting a thorough investigation.”
