A notification has been issued by the National Test Agency, in which it has been said that the CSIR-UGC NET examinations to be held on 25, 26, 27 June have been postponed due to lack of resources. The new date of the exam will be released soon on the official website of the National Test Agency. Candidates can visit the official site for more information. It is worth noting that CSIR-UGC NET June 2024 was to be conducted on 25, 26 and 27 June in computer based test (CBT) mode. This year, a total of 11,21,225 candidates had registered for the exam.
CSIR-UGC-NET Exam Pattern- The medium of this paper is both English and Hindi. The exam is conducted for 180 minutes or three hours and the paper consists of multiple choice type questions. The exam consists of five papers: Chemical Sciences, Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Physical Sciences.
It is worth noting that earlier on Wednesday, the Ministry of Education had also canceled the UGC National Eligibility Test C UGC-NET June 2024 exam. This year irregularities were also seen in the medical entrance exam NEET.
What is NTA?
The National Testing Agency (NTA), established in November 2017 under the Indian Societies Registration Act, 1860, is an autonomous body tasked with conducting several entrance examinations. The agency is headed by a distinguished educationist appointed by the HRD Ministry, currently headed by Pradeep Kumar Joshi, former UPSC chairman. The NTA conducts exams like NEET, JEE, CTET, GATE, GPAT, GMAT, CAT and UGC-NET.
What is UGC-NET exam?
This exam is conducted for eligibility of Assistant Professor or Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor in all universities and colleges. Eligibility for JRF and Assistant Professor is decided on the basis of the performance of the candidate in Paper-I and Paper-II of UGC-NET. Candidates who qualify only for the post of Assistant Professor have to follow the recruitment rules of the respective universities, colleges or state governments to become Assistant Professor.
