Pakistan is hosting the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. However, the Indian team will not go to Pakistan because the Central Government did not give permission to Team India. The Board of Control for Cricket in India has informed the ICC about this decision. In such a situation, Pakistan Cricket Board has no option but to conduct the tournament in hybrid model. At the same time, former cricketer and famous commentator Akash Chopra has given his reaction on India’s decision not to go to Pakistan.
Akash said on his YouTube channel that it has been decided that the Indian team will not go to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. This is not the decision of BCCI. When it comes to Pakistan, the Indian cricket team does not decide where and when they will go. This is fine for the rest of the place. But if you are going to Pakistan, it is not the BCCI’s decision but the Indian government’s decision. The government has told that the team is not allowed to go there. Had to take permission to go, is not going to India.
He said that, in a way, Pakistan itself is responsible for this. Just yesterday I saw that a bomb exploded at a railway station in Quetta. This happened in your house. Then when we talk about India, especially Kashmir, Pakistan is also involved in it. In such a situation, the Government of India has the right to take every decision. If Pakistan gets its house in order then maybe relations will become normal. Then the teams can visit each other and bilateral cricket can start. For that, Pakistan will have to work on its own.
Aakash Chopra further said that many things are going on regarding the organization of Champions Trophy. What will happen to the Champions Trophy? Pakistan has denied that they do not want the hybrid model at all because no one told them that India was not coming. They are preparing to host it in Pakistan. Sometimes it is very important to have a reality check. I am not trying to degrade or humiliate anyone, I am just stating the truth. If you like it then accept it, even if you don’t like it then accept it, it is the truth, it is not going to change.
