Mahesh Gaikwad came into limelight in February this year when Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Ganpat Gaikwad opened fire on him inside a police station in Ulhasnagar city due to old enmity.

Shiv Sena leader Mahesh Gaikwad from Kalyan in Maharashtra’s Thane district and nine other members of the ruling alliance Mahayuti were suspended for allegedly indulging in “anti-party” activities during the Maharashtra Assembly elections.

Mahesh Gaikwad came into limelight in February this year when Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Ganpat Gaikwad opened fire on him inside a police station in Ulhasnagar city due to old enmity.

Shiv Sena’s Kalyan district chief Gopal Landge said in a statement on Wednesday that the alliance members, including Mahesh Gaikwad, were involved in “anti-party” activities and were not following the party’s instructions in the ongoing elections. The ruling grand alliance in Maharashtra includes Shiv Sena, BJP and NCP.
