Shiv Sena leader Mahesh Gaikwad from Kalyan in Maharashtra’s Thane district and nine other members of the ruling alliance Mahayuti were suspended for allegedly indulging in “anti-party” activities during the Maharashtra Assembly elections.

Shiv Sena’s Kalyan district chief Gopal Landge said in a statement on Wednesday that the alliance members, including Mahesh Gaikwad, were involved in “anti-party” activities and were not following the party’s instructions in the ongoing elections. The ruling grand alliance in Maharashtra includes Shiv Sena, BJP and NCP.
