Punjab’s Moga district administration on Sunday issued show cause notices to several officials, including two sub-divisional magistrates and two police station in-charges, over incidents of stubble burning in fields.
Deputy Commissioner Special Sarangal said in a statement that so far 87 incidents of stubble burning have been reported in Moga. Show cause notices have been issued to SDM (Moga) Sarangpreet Singh Aujla and SDM (Baghapurana) Beant Singh Sidhu.
Apart from this, notices have also been issued to more than 10 other officers. The District Commissioner said that FIRs have been registered against 61 people. Apart from this, a fine of Rs 1,72,500 has also been imposed on the guilty farmers.
