Leader of Opposition, RJD leader and former Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav has geared up for the Bihar assembly elections next year. In view of which, a state-wide tour is likely to start from August 17. It will start from Valmikinagar, and the first phase will end in Kishanganj.
During this tour, all 243 assembly seats of Bihar will be covered. During this tour, the failures of the NDA government will be exposed. And will work to instill enthusiasm in the ground workers of the party.
A senior RJD leader said the yatra is likely to start from Valmikinagar, which is an important area for the RJD because of its traditional voter base among tribals and backward classes. He said Tejashwi will cover all 243 assembly constituencies in various phases of this yatra. The yatra will have several phases and will take more than a month.
RJD sources said Tejashwi Yadav, who had last undertaken the Jan Vishwas Yatra across the state in mid-February to reach out to people ahead of the Lok Sabha elections held in April-May, had raised enthusiasm by holding street corner meetings, interacting with workers and block-level leaders.

RJD spokesperson Chittaranjan Gagan said that the purpose of the yatra is that despite being an ally of the NDA government at the center, CM Nitish Kumar has failed to get Bihar the status of a special state, unemployment and increased reservation in the Ninth Schedule. We will work to convey these shortcomings to the public. Along with this, we will highlight the government’s failure to improve law and order, ensure high economic growth, unemployment issues and stop migration.
Meanwhile, the ruling JDU and BJP have already dismissed Tejashwi Yadav’s upcoming visit, saying it will be of no use as the people of the state have rejected the party in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections. Senior JDU leader and minister Ashok Choudhary had a few days ago targeted Tejashwi for his attack on the state government over increased reservation, failure to restore special status and poor law and order.
He reminded Tejashwi that it was the government led by CM Kumar that had conducted the caste-based survey, and also claimed that Bihar had made progress in economic development during CM Kumar’s tenure. Choudhary said that the state government has improved law and order by conducting quick hearings, and also targeted Yadav, saying that when the RJD was in power, Bihar was known for massacres.
RJD had contested 23 seats in the last Lok Sabha elections along with its Mahagathbandhan partners and won four seats. The party is already holding meetings with district level leaders to find out why the party’s performance was not good despite a vigorous campaign during the general elections. Tejashwi Yadav himself had held more than 200 election rallies.
