Also used the word ‘Barsi’ which is a ritual organized on the death anniversary. He said that on the same day Prime Minister Narendra Modi had declared old notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 as invalid.

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Friday paid tribute to those who “lost their lives in long queues” outside banks to deposit demonetised currency notes after demonetisation.

While talking to reporters here, the former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar also used the word ‘Barsi’ in a sarcastic tone, which is a ritual organized on the death anniversary. He said that on the same day Prime Minister Narendra Modi had declared old notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 as invalid.

Yadav said, “I don’t know whether you people remember or not. But today is November 8, a big day. This is the anniversary of demonetization.” He said, “Today I pay tribute to those who lost their lives standing in long queues. Tall claims were made that black money would be eliminated. But the promises proved to be hollow.” Instead, the Bharatiya Janata Party bought land across the country and built grand party offices on them, possibly using black money, he alleged.
