Uttar Pradesh: Miscreants looted jewelery worth lakhs of rupees from a bullion worker.

In Pratapgarh district of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday evening, miscreants disguised as policemen on a motorcycle looted jewelery worth lakhs of rupees from a jeweler and escaped. A police officer gave this information.

Additional Superintendent of Police (East) Durgesh Kumar Singh said that Shiv Shankar Shukla is an employee of Mateshwari Gold shop in Lucknow and he takes orders by showing samples of jewelery at the shops.

He told that on Wednesday evening Shukla had come to the bullion shops near Chowk Ghantaghar to take orders and he had a bag of jewelery in his hand. The officer said that then two miscreants riding a motorcycle reached there and, posing as police officers, asked Shukla to go to the police station on the pretext of checking his bag.

Singh told that when Shukla left with him for the police station, even before the police station, the miscreants left him and ran away with the bag containing jewellery. The officer said that the bag contained about 237 grams of gold jewellery, which is worth about Rs 16 lakh.
