After a three-hour struggle, Qasim and Idris were rescued safely, while Rafaytullah was taken to the district hospital in a seriously injured condition where doctors declared him brought dead.
A 40-year-old man died when a wall collapsed on him while he was climbing into a well to take out bricks in a village in Lakhimpur Kheri district. Police gave this information on Monday.
Police said that the incident took place in Amirnagar village of Mohammadi police station late on Sunday evening when Rafaytullah, Qasim and his brother Idris had descended into a 24 feet deep dry well to take out bricks. He told that while taking out the bricks, the wall suddenly collapsed and they were trapped inside.
Police station in-charge Inderjit Singh said that after about three hours of struggle with the help of JCB, Qasim and Idris were rescued safely, while Rafaytullah was taken to the district hospital in a seriously injured condition where doctors declared him brought dead.
