Veteran Tamil actor Delhi Ganesh passed away in Chennai on November 9 due to age-related ailments. He was 80 years old. His son Maha Devan confirmed the news on social media. Ganesh began his career in acting after a decade-long stint with the Indian Air Force from 1964 to 1974. The last rites of Delhi Ganesh will take place on Monday, November 11 at 10 am. Confirming the news of the actor’s death, his son wrote, “We are very sad to inform that our father Dr. Delhi Ganesh has passed away on 9th November 2024 at around 11 pm.”
Rajinikanth expressed condolences
Rajinikanth pays tribute to Delhi Ganesha on X. “My friend Delhi Ganesh was a wonderful human being and a remarkable actor. I am deeply saddened to hear the news of his demise. I express my condolences to his family and friends,” he wrote in Tamil. Om Shanti.”
Thalapathy Vijay Sadness Appeared
Thalapathy Vijay condoled the actor’s death through the X handle of his political party, Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK): “The news of the demise of veteran actor Mr. Delhi Ganesh due to health issues is deeply saddened. He had worked in over 400 films. Have acted in.” Having appeared in various roles for over 40 years, his sudden demise is a great loss to the Tamil film industry. I express my heartfelt condolences to his bereaved family and friends.”

Actor Karthi wrote, “Saddened by the demise of Delhi Ganesh sir. His iconic roles in many films and his ability to bring unforgettable characters to life on screen will always be etched in the history of Tamil cinema. You will be greatly missed sir.”
Delhi Ganesh’s film career
The veteran actor’s stage name, Delhi Ganesh- was given by filmmaker K Balachander, who gave him his first break with Patina Pravesam in 1976. Over the years, Delhi Ganesh has appeared in over 400 films in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam cinema. Some of his most notable works include Nayakan, Michael Madhana Kama Rajan, Sindhu Bhairavi, Iruvar and others.
